Ektimal is excited to announce that, through a franchise partnership with leading gym operator PureGym, it is launching affordable, flexible, no-contract fitness in Saudi Arabia. PureGym KSA will offer flexible, affordable, no contract gym memberships making fitness accessible to a large, currently unserved proportion of the population. Currently memberships in Saudi Arabia require a 3, 6- or 12-month commitment. With a strong digital presence, PureGym KSA will offer users the ability to tour the branch virtually and subscribe to their memberships online. They will have the option to pay membership fees monthly with flexibility to stop should they wish to.
Forty clubs will be launched across key cities in the Kingdom by the end of 2025, with the first branches opening in Riyadh in Q3 of 2021.
Each site will be open 24 hours and will offer 250+ top of the range pieces of equipment, group exercise classes and fully qualified personal trainers who will be on hand to guide users through their workouts.
Commenting on the news
Sami Al Hokair, Chairman Ektimal
“We are delighted and excited about partnering with PureGym, one of Europe’s leading gym operators and a pioneer of affordable, flexible gym memberships. Gym provision in Saudi Arabia is currently limited and the country is in great need of more accessible facilities. Like many other countries, the Kingdom needs to address the challenges of obesity, diabetes and mental health all of which can be addressed through regular exercise. We hope to inspire people to do more exercise, more often and lead fitter, healthier lives.”
Humphrey Cobbold CEO of PureGym added:
“We are thrilled our affordable and accessible gym proposition will be available in Saudi Arabia next year. It will make gym membership possible for thousands of people currently put off by expensive, long-term memberships. We are confident that Ekitmal is the right partner for PureGym and look forward to working with them in this exciting new market.”
